On 20 February 2011, an application was received by the Registry of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) submitted by Mr Youssef Ababou who alleged that his son, Mr Soufiane Ababou, (the “Applicant”) had been forced to join the military in Algeria against his will.
